The Surgical and Clinical Support Services of University Animal Care provides surgical and clinical support to the university research community. Support to investigators is provided through the Clinical Services and Surgery Section. They can provide an assortment of surgical equipment and supplies along with skilled technical support. Support can include assistance with projects or the performance of surgery or some procedures for projects. Surgical and Clinical Support serve as a “Core Facility” for investigators, so they don’t have to duplicate resources, thus reducing research costs. Services are provided on a recharge basis.

The Clinical Service Section is responsible for the surveillance of animal health and well-being and performing or overseeing the medical treatment and post-operative progress of research subjects. The Surgery Section provides aseptic and clean surgery facilities for use on survival and non-survival surgical procedures, as well as an assortment of equipment and supplies.
